"Introducing the Young Guns Clan, an honorable Battlezone clan." That is the first sentence at the Young Guns Clan's website. A good first impression is very important. That line defines to the world three important points. First, it offers the reader a proper introduction to who we are, namely "The Young Guns Clan". Second, it gives the reader the idea that we are not a clan of outlaws, because we are honorable. Third and last, it establishes the fact that we are a Battlezone clan.

The ~YG~ Clan was founded in the year 2000, but was yet unnamed then. We started as five guys who played Battlezone together. They were: one father with one young son + another father with two young sons. (To his credit the second father also had one daughter, but she was not interested.) These five guys played Battlezone on a Local Area Network, because at that time, they had not discovered Online play.
The ~YG~ Clan discovered the Battlezone Community Online in 2001. We also took on a new clansman, "Kyp
Duron", a college student. Kyp Duron designed the Clan Logo, two crossed revolvers. A smaller,
black-and-white image of crossed revolvers is in use as the Clan's Online Flag. Another inducted member who
came along later, ~YG~ /\//\\/ Beacon was the first one to customize his flag, with the words NAV
BEACON, FEAR ME. (Flags are small, heheh.) I, Killer ][nstinct took up that
example, approving of it, and added the monogram 
to my flag.
We ~YG~ Clansmen appreciate freedom, and creativity (of the type which does not offend).
Since that time the Clan has grown. Our clan is a handpicked group of upstanding and friendly Battlezone players from various countries*, but mostly we are from the USA. With humble beginnings of two friends, and their three young boys, the Young Guns clan now boasts 16 players, many of whom lead busy lives and appear only occasionally. The Young Gun Clan does not abandon their own!
The Young Gun Clan pride ourselves in helping the Battlezone Community and supporting the game in general. The Clan Website at http://www.battlezoneclub.org/youngguns is a huge resource for new and experienced players alike. The two founding members Kahless and Killer ][nstinct are also Steering Committee Members of The Battlezone Club, a registered non-profit 501(c)3 corporation.
Membership into the Young Gun Clan is a three-step process:
(1) Clan Supervised play to determine attitude and fair play of applicant.
(2) A voice conference via telephone or voice-over-IP software to further get to know applicant.
(3) A majority Vote of Clan members (usually through e-mail).
This tough process ensures only players of the highest standards are enlisted. Applicants awaiting vote are sometimes
allowed to use "~YG~ <pledge>" in their name.
